Prejudice or just Coincidence in Jr. High paper??
I’m 15y/o and am in the Journalism class. We write the school paper. Theres been about 30 articles that we’ve made throughout the school year, I’ve had articles in most of them. The problem I have, is that EVERY single article that I’ve done solo(I used to work with my friend on an article) is always put on the last page, where there aren’t any other articles. I feel this is demeaning, and rascist….I’m pacific islander. This past issue, which was handed out today in school, had an editorial I wrote about youth getting into politics. My teacher, upon reading it before I sent it to be put in the paper, said it was amazing..Yet, once again I get the ONLY article in the back of the paper….I’m sick of it, and am thinking about dropping out of the class…But theres only 11weeks left in school. Do you think I’m being treated unfairly? The students, and my friends always come up to me and say my article is good, but they have to go to the back of the paper to read it…What should I do?
probably a coincidence, but you should talk to whoever arranges the articles. maybe they’re saving the best for last?
